This year, we asked customers about the durability of their bathroom suite and its different components - bath, shower cubicle, sink and toilet. Only three big brands were rated as 'good' (four stars) for durability overall. All the rest got three stars. The results for individual components saw star ratings ranging from three to five stars.
You can use pretty much anything for your bathroom floor as long as it’s waterproof and won’t get too slippery when wet. These days, most people choose tiles (marble or granite look good), sheeted or tiled vinyl (a sensible option if you’re on a budget), or wood-effect laminate.
Each brand is rated for customer service, quality of products and finish, durability and value for money, as well as an overall customer score. Not all the brands scored well - the difference between the top and bottom big-name brand is 23 percentage points.
