Options for wall-tile types include glass, ceramic or natural stone. There are matt or gloss tiles, and you can have small mosaic ones right through to large tiles, which can make a space-limited bathroom feel larger.
Vanity units also allow you to play around with materials and colours. There are a lot of different worktop options, from marble effect to stone, that can bring another layer of design and a different feeling to your bathroom.
It's not just bathroom brands we've assessed - we've also rated power and electric shower brands and tested electric showers in our labs. To find out what genuine customers think about their showers we asked over 3,000 Which? members about the models that they own. This feedback, on major shower manufacturers such as Mira and Triton, has enabled us to give each brand a unique customer score plus star ratings for important factors, such as their showers' build quality and ease of use.
Vanity units, depending on their size, can include various storage options. Think again about the questions above and what you'll be storing – would you want shelves inside the cabinets for pull-out baskets, or even drawers, for example?. Also think about what you'll need to make space for, such as a loo-roll holder and the storage of toilet paper, as some vanity units include space for these items.
